Hjavascript:void(0)ave a student with a Smart Phone? Is your child on Instagram, Snapchat, or other Social Media platforms? Would you like to be more aware of how teenagers are interacting online? This event is for you! Parents, please join us Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the Quimby Gym at 6pm for our Parent and Community Outreach Night hosted by https://www.icanhelpdeletenegativity.org Bullying continues to be a topic that challenges even the best schools and districts. With the rapid increase of social media use, Cyber Bullying is an issue plaguing many of our students. Negative online behavior stresses and strains a healthy school culture. We want to empower our Lobos, protect them, and teach them positive ways to interact while navigating school and their social lives. This Parent and Community Outreach Night will address important information to help parents address social media issues with their children and teach them how to positively interact online.

#iCanHelp has worked with students to take down over 800 pages dealing with harassment, impersonation, bullying, and more. They work closely with schools in training students on how to respond to cyber issues. Our collaboration with this organization will help give Quimby the tools to be proactive in helping our students create a better world where people are treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. Students assemblies will take place on Wednesday, January 9th. 7th grade assembly is 7:50 to 8:40 and 8th grade assembly is 8:45 - 9:35.

Nightmare on Puberty St. is an award-winning, live theatre performance for students in grade 8. Comedy, drama, music, and dance bring to life issues that affect the health of pre-teens: peer pressure and self-esteem, "crushes" and romantic feelings, body changes, depression and thoughts of suicide, violence, and communication with parents and peers. Click for more information on their performance at Quimby Oak.
