After School Programs

R.O.C.K. (Recreation of City Kids)

The City of San Jose's after school program called Recreation of City Kids or R.O.C.K. is conveniently located at Evergreen Elementary School. This after school program offers enrichment, healthy recreation, developmental classes, homework assistance, safety and fun after school care for students.

Days: Monday – Friday, except school holidays, breaks, and in-service days.
Location: Evergreen Elementary School
Hours: From when the bell rings until 6 p.m.
Registration:

  • To start, you must have an account with R.O.C.K. before you can register. Create account on this log in page.
  • Register online at the R.O.C.K. registration page. Scroll down and select R.O.C.K. @ Evergreen to begin registration.
  • Program is only available when school is in session. For all holiday or teacher in-service days, the R.O.C.K program will be closed.
  • The program is open on all minimum days including those occurring during parent-teacher conference week.
  • Registration is not accepted at the school office.
  • Limited scholarships are available for students who receive FREE or REDUCED LUNCH. Documentation is required to qualify for the scholarship.

YMCA

One of East Valley YMCA's Child Care Centers is conveniently located on our school campus. The YMCA's Child Care program is available:

  • From the first day of school through the last day of school
  • After School Monday - Friday from 2 - 6 p.m.
  • Registration for after school child care is by referral only. Please contact yafterschool@ymcasv.org for more information.

The YMCA offers a safe space to complete homework with help of the leaders that teach each grade level. Students will have daily physical activity and enrichment activities that align with the common core standards.

BellGrad After-School Enrichment Program

STEAM & Sports Coaching

BellGrad is a STEAM & Sports enrichment program operating in classroom 30 and 31 to foster youth development. We also nurture students' interests, encouraging leadership and positive role modeling through a blend of sports, STEAM, homework and social‑emotional learning.

Our operating time is school dismissal until 6 p.m.  We support K/TK early dismissal.

BellGrad Program Highlights:

  • Encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, problem-solving, leadership, and effective communication.
  • Professional teachers provide grade level coaching on Arts, Crafts, Science Projects, Math and Kids Robotics (Dash & Dot Coding).
  • Conduct sports coaching on Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football, Chess and other sports.
  • Implement a curriculum promoting social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.
